“I made the leap from consuming information about Yeshua to accepting it”

My story:

“I have always been a secular Jew but one who believed in God. I always initially heard about Yeshua in the context that he was a prophet or Messiah of the Christians, or in the context of Christmas, nothing deep. The first time I felt something beyond that was in my Bar Mitzvah studies when the rabbi who was teaching me started cursing and blaspheming Yeshua and I didn’t understand why. There was no basis for it. I felt bad that someone who was from among my people was being hated like that.

Several years after that I came across your videos, and even though I learned a lot I didn’t give it any room in my life because I didn’t understand everything in depth, and I also thought that matters of religion and faith were not that critical for me… but in the last few weeks I made the leap from consuming the information to accepting it, and also accepting Yeshua.

Of course now I want to get to know him better, and I ordered the New Testament last week. I guess that’s the foundation and basis from which I can really understand everything.

I agree about the Jewish identity, Judaism has always felt distant to me, because I felt that it kept God away from me. Of course it is personal and there are those for whom Jewish laws and traditions help them but without Jesus. But I felt that man took the reins of the divine covenant and we opened the door to leaders and others who did not use that power for good.”

What to know

  • Many Jewish people have negative feelings towards Yeshua, in large part due to the severe persecution of Jews at the hands of the church for generations. Many blame Yeshua for the atrocities so-called Christians have committed in His name, and call him “that man” or “Yeshu” which is a way of cursing Him.
  • It can take a long time for Jewish people to accept the truth about Yeshua for themselves even after they have heard it and believed it. It is seen as betrayal and causes a lot of tension in families and communities.
  • Most Jewish people have never read the New Testament and don’t realize what a Jewish book it really is! It is not available in regular bookstores, so we offer to send it to those who want to have a copy.

How to Pray

  • Please pray that many Jewish people will find the truth about Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah, and what He really taught — through materials online like our videos and other content, and through the New Testament.
  • Pray for those who are starting to believe but are afraid to take the next step for fear of reprisals.
  • Pray for our team as they seek to support seekers who are exploring the teachings of Yeshua, and questions of faith — for God’s wisdom and love.
