If you have been praying for the transformation of terrorists, I have some amazing news for you: a member of the Hamas terror group has recently come to faith through our Arabic outreach.
Ali (not his real name) is not only a son of Hamas but a member of the organization. He grew up in a family that had sworn allegiance to the Hamas terror group, and was working his way to heaven, or so he thought, on the path of jihad. But God redirected him to the real path of life.
After someone recommended our videos to him, he saw content about the Gospel that profoundly challenged his beliefs. He really enjoyed many of the videos he saw, especially that of Kareem who had also once been a trained terrorist (see below). He heard that there was only one way to heaven, and that was through Jesus — Yeshua the Messiah.
He was raised in a religious Palestinian family who imparted extremist Hamas ideology to him as he grew up, and was trained to believe that jihad was the way to heaven. However, he was also deeply concerned about going to hell. The news about Yeshua troubled him greatly, and he wrestled internally with the dilemma: should he get in contact with Carlos and the team in order to learn more? To get a chance at heaven? Or forget about it and please his family and community at the risk of ending up in hell?
Even without the controversial Christian beliefs, the very name of Carlos was enough to get him in a lot of trouble. Carlos is an Arab but his name is Greek, and distinctly non-Muslim. Ali would make contact and then disappear for months at a time, but his heart would not rest. His family were pressuring him in different ways, pushing him to actively partake in jihad and Hamas operations, to follow a more religious in lifestyle, but he could not silence the pull in his heart towards the Lord. At one point a family member warned him with violence, but Ali had tasted the truth. He could not stop now.
The Gospel has the power to change even the hearts of Hamas terrorists. Ali began to make more regular contact and today it is almost daily. He has put his faith in Yeshua as his Lord and Savior, and now knows, with all his heart, that he is saved.
This man who was once part of the Hamas death cult has found the way to life, and it is not through jihad. It is through Yeshua, the Way, the Truth and the Life.
