My story:
“I have never been to a Messianic congregation of any sort. I watch sermons on YouTube from a Messianic congregation, and watch all kinds of messages in Spanish. I also read the New Testament myself. The things you upload to your YouTube channel I also love to watch. And I really love you all, my brothers in faith. When I come back to Israel I will get involved with one of the congregations there. I am making progress, slowly.”
What to know
- Many Israelis, like this person, start to explore faith in Yeshua while they are traveling abroad. If you meet Israelis, you might become part of their faith journey! Don’t be afraid to share what God means to you, how you came to faith, and what Yeshua has done in your life.
- The internet makes the truth available to everyone, so we make sure that any Israeli searching will find good videos and content on Yeshua in the Hebrew language, presented in a way that makes sense to Jewish people.
- This person wanted to be baptized, which can be seen as a betrayal of their Jewish identity, but baptism actually comes from ancient Jewish practice! John the Baptist was baptizing people in a manner that was prescribed in rabbinic teaching.
- There are well over 200 Messianic congregations in Israel today.
How to Pray
- Pray that Israelis overseas will encounter believers who can share the Good News and “provoke them to jealousy” (Romans 11:11).
- Pray for this person to find a congregation that they can join and grow in when they return to Israel.
- Please pray for those who are afraid of betraying their Jewish identity to find out how Jewish it really is to follow Yeshua as the Messiah!
