My story:
“Thanks to you I finished listening to the entire New Testament a few days ago and thanks to you I received a new spirit for life.
Before that I was like a dead man who had nothing to justify himself because I was unable to fulfill the commandments required for a religious lifestyle. But now I understand what powers were controlling my soul.”
What to know
- This man came from an ultra-orthodox background, but came to see the difference between God’s word and manmade religion.
- It is impossible to fulfill all the commandments today, since many laws relate to sacrifices and worship involving the temple which no longer exists. More than that, we all sin.
- Yeshua said, “The thief comes only to kill, steal, and destroy, but I have come to give you life, and life in all its fulness.” (John 10:10)
How to Pray
- Pray for those following the rules and regulations of rabbis to become aware of the emptiness of manmade religion and discover the truth, whether it’s through websites like ours, personal encounters with believers, or privately reading the Bible.
- Pray for those from the ultra-orthodox community who secretly believe in Yeshua as their Messiah, but are afraid to be open about their decision to follow Him.
- Pray for those caring for new believers, especially if they came from very religious backgrounds. It’s very hard to leave such a close-knit community, and new believers often need a lot of support and kindness.
