(Saturday, November 24) Travel day
(Sunday) Arrival at Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv
Upon arrival in Israel each participant will go through customs and pick up their luggage. Our tour guide will greet the group outside the baggage claim area and we’ll travel to our hotel in Netanya. In the evening we’ll join our first team meeting for orientation.
(Monday) Community Project. Serve at a club for Holocaust survivors and the elderly in a nearby neighborhood. Enjoy a lunch (included) with ONE FOR ISRAEL staff at the Israel College of the Bible. Learn about Messianic Jewish believers in history and in Israel today and become familiar with the vision and programs.
(Tuesday) Visit Caesarea where Peter preached to Cornelius (Acts 10) and Paul gave his defense before Roman governors (Acts 24-26). Then travel via Mt. Carmel to Nazareth.
Community Project. Connect with a local Arab Christian pastor. Visit his church and pray for his work. Assist in visitation at a local hospital (children’s wing and/or geriatrics wing).
(Wednesday) Tour Nazareth Village, a reenactment of village life in Nazareth at the time of Yeshua.
Community Project. Assist in various ministry projects and/or prayer walks in the Nazareth area.
Lunch is included today. At the end of the day we’ll travel to the Sea of Galilee.
(Thursday) Touring. We’ll take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. There will also be an opportunity to view the remains of a fishing boat from the time of Yeshua and the synagogue at the town of Magdala (probable home of Mary Magalene). We’ll visit the traditional locations for the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5-7), the breakfast on the beach after the resurrection (John 21), and Capernaum, Yeshua’s ministry base.
We’ll enjoy a fish lunch together (included) and then travel up to the northern borders to pray over Lebanon and Syria. Visit Tel Dan (I Kings 12/Judges 18) and Caesarea Philippi (Matthew 16). Continue to the Golan Heights for a view into Syria.
(Friday) We’ll travel down the Jordan Valley to Qaser el-Yahud, the traditional baptismal site of Yeshua in the Jordan River. There will be an opportunity for baptisms for those interested.
The rest of the day will be spent in the region of the Dead Sea. Visit Masada, the palace-fortress of Herod the Great, used by the Zealots in the Great Jewish Revolt against Rome. Hike Ein Gedi where David hid from Saul as recorded in 1 Samuel 24. We’ll end the day with an opportunity to float in the Dead Sea.
(Saturday) Touring. Visit the Mount of Olives, the location of Yeshua’s ascent and return, and Dominus Flevit where He wept over the city of Jerusalem (Luke 19:41-44). Spend time at the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus prayed His last prayer with His disciples.
Community Projects. There will be an opportunity to attend a Messianic congregation for their Sabbath service. Then continue to Bethlehem for lunch, where we’ll meet with a Palestinian pastor to learn about his ministry and pray for his congregation. Time permitting we’ll be able to visit a shepherd’s cave and perhaps even visit a local olive wood shop owned by Palestinian Christians.
(Sunday) Visit Temple Mount, the site of the two temples and the Pools of Bethesda, where Jesus healed a man paralyzed for 38 years. We can worship at St. Anne’s Church, then walk down the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We’ll have lunch in the Old City with some free time to browse the Old City markets, shop in the Jewish Quarter, or visit other sites of interest in the Old City.
Dinner is on your own to enjoy a local restaurant and perhaps attend the English service at King of Kings fellowship.
(Monday) Today we travel to the Shephela (lowlands) of Judah for a brief stop at the Valley of Elah, where David fought Goliath.
Community Project. We’ll spend most of the day at the Joshua Fund’s warehouse for humanitarian aid and learn about their vision and ministry. Have lunch with their staff and assist the ministry in packing and distributing aid.
Returning to Jerusalem we’ll visit the Israel Museum, where we will view the 50:1 scale model of Jerusalem from Yeshua’s time, and the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls.
(Tuesday) Community Project. This morning the team will do a prayer walk in the area of the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) and Supreme Court. We’ll end at the Jerusalem Prayer Tower for a time of intercession over the city.
In the afternoon well go to the Western Wall, for centuries the place of Jewish prayer in the Old City. Explore the Western Wall Tunnels together and continue to the Garden Tomb for a tour and group communion. We’ll also spend time at Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Enjoy our farewell dinner (included) with ONE FOR ISRAEL staff en route to the airport for our flight home.
(Wednesday) Arrive home with vibrant memories of ancient stones and Living Stones in the Land of Israel.
